Sigma AF 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens (Sony E) - versatile focal length with bright maximum aperture, Sony E-mount 35mm f / 1.4 DG HSM Art Lens from Sigma is a wide-angle lens with advanced optical design. The combination of one F Low Dispersion (FLD) element and four dedicated Low Dispersion (SLD) elements helps to achieve a marked reduction in chromatic aberration, while a pair of aspherical elements at the rear of the lens minimize a variety of additional distortion and aberration. Super Multi Coating is also applied to lens elements to reduce flare and ghosting for higher contrast and color accuracy. In addition, the maximum aperture of f / 1.4 is ideal for low-light conditions and offers greater control over depth of field. The lens is equipped with a Hyper Sonic motor for fast, smooth and quiet autofocus performance and for easy manual focusing. The lens uses a heat-resistant composite material for durability in all conditions of use, and a brass bayonet mount ensures reliability during long cycles of screwing the lens onto the camera. Features Designed to achieve truly visible optical performance and is ideal for creative and artistic photographic endeavors. The standard wide-angle lens is designed for Sony E-mount full-frame DSLR cameras, however it can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide an equivalent focal length of 52.5mm. The maximum aperture of f / 1.4 is well-suited for low-light work and also provides greater control over depth of field. One FLD element and four SLD elements are presented in an optical design and help reduce color ghosting and chromatic aberration for improved color clarity and accuracy. Two aspherical elements reduce distortion and spherical aberration for improved image clarity. Super Multi-Layer Coating is applied to the lens element to minimize flare and ghosting, contributing to high contrast saturation and color neutralization images even under backlit conditions. The nine-blade rounded diaphragm contributes to smooth and pleasing bokeh. The integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) realizes fast and quiet autofocusing, which is complemented by an optimized AF algorithm for smoother focusing. HSM also allows manual focus control by simply rotating the focus ring at any time during autofocus shooting, without the need to switch from one mode to another. The bayonet mount is made of brass. In addition, a rubber seal is built into the mount structure to make it dust- and splash-proof.
