SmallRig Heavy-Duty Video Tripod AD-01 - is a classic heavy video tripod with three-section legs and a 75 mm video head bowl. It provides a working height of 85 to 186 cm, as well as a maximum payload of up to 8 kg with a tripod weighing 4 kg. The material of the new video tripod is aluminum.
The video head has additional mounting ports on the body for attaching accessories and is compatible with DJI RS 2 and Manfrotto quick release plates, as well as, judging by the images, with DJI RSC2. The head of the new SmallRig Heavy-Duty AD-01 tripod has a tilt range of +90° to -75° and can be rotated through 360°. However, SmallRig does not specify whether it is possible to adjust the freedom of rotation in the panorama, which is an important point for video shooting.
The quick release plate for SmallRig AD-01 can be inserted in either direction. The camera is fixed using the hex key that comes with the kit, however, if you lose the key, SmallRig engineers thought about this possibility and provided a slot for a coin on the head of the bolt. The detachable plate has two screws as standard - 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16, and the video head has two ports with a 1/4″-20 thread and two 3/8″-16 for accessories, there are also additional ports 1/4″-20.
